Chandelier Crates

Four chandeliers needing to be crated for transport and storage. The smallest of the chandeliers measured 1600 x 1600 x 2400mm, weighing 150kg while the largest was 2100 x 2100 x 2850mm and weighed 400kg. Chandelier’s do vary in design but will usually damage themselves under their own weight, thus the requirement to suspended each within its own crate. Given the size and weight of these, it made the requirement even more necessary to ensure this design will be secure and long lasting, as they may be hanging within the crate for a number of months.

Rebul was given just 5 days notice from time of order before these chandeliers were crated in Adelaide. So not only did these crates need to suspend such large chandeliers, but they also needed to be able to flat pack for ease of transport out to the job in Adelaide.

The design of the Rebul Crate gave the packers complete flexibility to pack the chandelier from any side of the crate. Because of the size and weight, a hydraulic lift was used to crane each chandelier into the crate from the top and side as shown above.

As you can see, the chandelier is suspended by a hook built into the internal roof, but the strength is taken from the lid and side panels. Once fully closed the crate will become significantly stronger and supporting the chandelier.

Rebul exists to provide fast turnaround, customised crates to removals companies. We each crating move for our clients to be seamless and professional, as it was with this one.
